Tor MM 87 Mechanical Shaft Seal

High-precision, high-quality mechanical shaft seals made from a combination of 316 Stainless Steel and Graphite, easy to install and maintain.The mechanical sealing action is achieved through the perfect planar contact between the Stainless Steel ring and the Graphite component. The Stainless Steel ring is secured to the propeller shaft with grub screws (therefore rotating together with the shaft), while the Graphite component remains stationary within the seal.The mechanical shaft seals can be installed directly onto the stern tube using a Rubber sleeve secured with hose clamps. The standard stern tube connection size for the Rubber sleeve is 87 mm; however, by using reducers, the mechanical seals can also be installed on stern tubes with diameters of 70 mm or imperial sizes of 2”1/2 and 3”.
The seal can also be supplied with a bulkhead-mounted Bronze seal carrier complete with water-lubricated bearing (see codes 4900635<>4900680).
